West Sth St. Rear window bent and entered. VCR, jewelry and CD player taken. Stolen car WEST VANCOUVER Police converged on two suspicious vehicles as they exited Ambleside Park on July 19. One of the vehicles, a 1992 Honda Accord had been stolen from Vancouver hours earlier according to a West Vancouver Palice spokesman. The second vehicle, a 1993 Chev Blazer, had been seen with the occu- pants of the stolen auto inside in the local area and in Ambleside Park. A police officer had spotted the two cars near Capilano Road and Marine Drive, but was unable to catch up to the vehicles in traffic. The officer broadcast the cars’ descriptions over the police radio. Three minutes later, a West Vancouver bylaw student located the two vehicles in Ambleside Park, according to police. The Chevy Blazer was determined not to be stolen. Police did recover stolen property from an occupant of the Blazer. Further investigation of the inci- dent may lead to more charges, according to police. Punch for cash A PEDESTRIAN on West- view Drive near the Trans- Canada Highway on July 20 was allegedly punched several times by a man demanding money. The victim, a North © Vancouver man, said the sus- pect hit him without provoca- tion, according to a North Vancouver RCMP spokesman. The victim did not sustain any injuries, said police. Michael James Hepnarek, 27, of North Vancquver, was charged with assault in con- nection with the incident.
