The Citizens’ Association for Responsible Education (CARE) claims to be ‘‘a group of moderates’’ who will be endorsing school trustee candidates to counter- balance the influence of the Taxpayers’ Association for Good Government (TAGG). TAGG is the organization identified by CARE as ‘‘ex- treme right wing’’. ‘‘There really should not be any room for a right-left wing battle over the educa- tion of our children,’’ says NOEL WRIGHT CARE spokeswoman Sheila Thompson. ‘Basically, we are citizens of the North Shore who want fiscally responsible trustees — but just as importantly, we want trustees who are con- cerned about the children’s education,’’ she explains. ““There must be a balance between restraint and pro- viding quality education for our children.
