last week, im response to
Numerous complaints of
trouble in the Pool 88 area
on the Seymour River.

This week, Alderman
John Lakes introduced a
notice of motion urging the

Attorney General to
proclaim Bill 31! of the
Trespass Act “which would

enable a peace officer to
arrest a trespasser without
wafrant on enclosed and

posted land”.
“The amendments (in Bill

31) would be of assistance to
residents of the District of
North Vancouver who are
presently suffering the
consequences of trespass.”
Lakes said in his notice.

Lakes stated last week that
the problem of “anti-soctal
people polluting the  at-
mosphere all over the place”
is a “perennial” one which
cannot be solved simply by
changing parking regulations
around Pool 88.

Council decided last week
to widen the area of
resincted parking in the

vicinity_of. Riverside Drive in
an attempt to combat the
problem.

Counci will debate Lakes’
mouon next week.

A 38-foot wide road for
Garden Avenue has been
decided upon by North
Vancouver District council
for both blocks between
Manne Dnve and Capilano
Road.

The decision came at
Monday uight’s policy and
planning meeting [following
several meeting with
residents and unsuccessful
attempts by council to agree
on an appropnate width.
