Granville Island Market.

Gado Gado (Salad with Spicy
Peanut Dressing)

A thick peanut satice similar to
that served with sate accompanies
this salad of couked and raw veg-
etables and fruit.

14 ¢. sliced green beans

1% fresh bean sprouts

14 c. shredded white or Chinese
cabbage

2-3) mediuni tomatoes, “thinly
sliced

1 medium onion, thinly sliced

1 English cucumber, cubed

2-4 hard-boiled eggs, quartered
2 slices fresh pineapple, cubed
1-2 fresh red chilies, seeded and
cut into fine shreds

Drop beans into a saucepan of
lightly salted water and simmer for
about 4 minutes, then drain, refresh
with cold water and drain again.
Pour boiling water over the bean
sprouts and cabbage and drain
immediately.

Arrange on a platter and sprin-
kle with shredded chilies.

Serve with peanut sauce.
