Four-lane highway endorsed A FOUR-LANE highway linking North Vancouver to Squamish, and continuing on to Lillooet, has received tentative endorsement from North Vancouver City Council. Ald. Barbara Sharp said the release of the provincial budget last week showed there was plenty of money being spent on highways in other parts of the province. The highway to Squamish is “not in great condition,’’ she said. Ald. Stella Jo Dean said a four- Jane highway would cost an “onerous amount of money.’’ Dean said before she endorsed the project she wanted to know possi- ble costs. But Sharp argued that council could endorse the mciion without knowing the Jong-term costs. “This isn’t going to happen overnight,’ said Sharp, ‘‘so the dollars to support (this) would be considered as it progressed along.”’ GOLD WANTED We buy karat gold; old rings, chains, charms, etc. plus yellow dentai gold.
