in an auto accident near
Squamish afier a day of skiing.
Brent was 32 years old. A loving
husband, a loving daddy, who
loved God with all his heart. Our
best friend. No one was ever so
devoted fo his tamity, was so
totally selfless and had such zeal
tor life. His passing will affect_so

friends and celatives. Services
were held on Tuesday, February
28 at St. Andrew's and St.
Stepten's Pr Chursit.

GRAM - ELSIE RUTH
(nee Davis) Died peacefully at
home on February 24. 1989. Ruth
was a sensitive and loving
woman of great strength who
taised a beautitu! family and
created a warm and hospitable
home for many friencs and ac-
quaintances. She will be greatly
missed by her husband Anker:
her chikiren Margo, Karen, Ellen,
Ctaire and Niels; her grand-
dsughter Nina: her sister Betts
Engell; extended tamily and
many friends. A memorial service
will be held at 3 p.m., Friday,
March 3 at the North Shore
Unitarian Church, 370 Mathers,
West Vancouver. In lieu of
flowers, donations for a park
bench for the West Vancouver
seawall, where she loved to walk,
would be greatly appreciated.

SMEDMAN ~ WILLIAM AUGUST
On February 26, 1969, William
August Smedman, 65, of North
Vancouver, died suddenty at his
home. Mr. Smedman, retired,
worked in the textiles and fur-
niture sales business for many
years. Born in Malax, Finland on
May 21, 1923 and of Swedish de-
scent, Mr. Smedman came to
Canada at the age of four. He is
survived by his wife Alix, his
daughter Lisa, his son Paul, and
many cousins in Finland and
Coos Bay, Oregon.

An avid outdoorsman and a_iong
time member of the North Shore
Hikers, in his earty years, Mr.
Smedman was one of the first to
build a cabin on Mount Seymour,
where his ashes will be scat-
tered. An expert in the antique
field, Mr. Smedman was known
for his skill in tumiture restora
tion and Interior design.

A memorial service will be held at
noon on Friday, March 3, 1989 at
the Boal Chapel in North Van-
couver. in lieu of flowers, dona-
tions may be made to the Salva-
tion Army.

CHAMBERS - Passed away
peacefully on February 25, 1989,
Robert cf West Vancouver, aged
78 years. He is survived by his
loving famity, wife Mary, daugh-
ter Jane. A memorial service will
be heid on Saturday, March 4 at
11. a.m. in the Hollyburn Funerat
Home, 1807 Marine Drive, West
Vancouver with Tiev. G. Phelps
officiating. Cremation. In lieu of
flowers, donations to the B.C.
Heart Foundation appreciated.
