EMERGENCY PROGRAM COORDINATOR

This position coordinates the Emergency Program
for the City and District of North Vancouver and the
District of West Vancouver municipalities. Reporting to
a Committee of elected officials, this full-time position
is responsible for the ongoing development of municipal
emergency and disaster plans and coordinating overall
planning with various municipal, provincial, federal and
private officials and agencies. This position provides
training and/or information on emergency programs to

all levels of government,

service organizations,

volunteer groups, the media and the general public. This
position also coordinates emergency radio communica-
tion services and the administration of the Program, in-
cluding budget preparation, purchases, cost control and

supervision of staff.

The successful candidate will have proven leader-
ship, communication, administrative, organization and
planning skills and will have a minimum of 5 years
emergency planning experience in a military, fire, police
or related environment. This position offers a salary in
the range of $35,000-$42,000, plus benefits.
