Japanese friendship
society plans meeting

FAMILIES INTERESTED in
joining the Seymour Asumigaoka
Friendship Society are invited to
attend a general meeting on Wed-
nesday, Nov. 16.

The Seymour Asumigaoka
Friendship Society was formed in
July 1987 to foster friendship and
cooperation between the com-
munities of Seymour in North
Vancouver and Asumigaoka in
Japan.

The society encourages a better
understanding of the two coun-
tries, communities, cultures and
lifestyles involved, through ex-

During the first two weeks of
August, the Seymour-Asumigaoka
Friendship Society hosted six stu-
dents from Asumigaoka, Japan.

Students between the ages of 14
and 20 will be travelling to
Asumigaoka during spring break
of 1989, where they will live with a
Japanese family.

The general meeting will begin at
7:30 p.m. at Seycove School. For
