Production house

A NEW Televideo production house has opened on Pemberton
Avenue in North Vancouver.

Managing director Mohammad Navidazar, who ran a music re-
cording studio in his former home in Tehran, says the studio will be
involved in post-production work for TV and video and will also
serve as a recording studio.

So far, Navidazar has provided work for producers of multi-
cultural video and TY programs as well as MuchMusic.

Young artists

FOUR NORTH Shore students have had their work accepted into:
the eighth annual British Columbia Young Artists 1993 Exhibit.

Bowen Island resident Emily van Lidth de Jeude, 15, of Sentinel
Secondary, Karin Bubas, 16, of Sutherland Secondary, Kris Dunn,
11, of Carisbrooke’ Elementary, and Elisa Rathje, 16, of Seycove
Secondary, were among 79 young B.C. artists chosen. A total of
1,300 works were submitted for adjudication.

BCYA ‘93 opens at Emily Carr. College Sept. 12 before departing
on a two-year provincial tour.

Contest winners

IAN LEVINGS, Teresa Rowley and Kyla Adams of West Vancouver.
were among the big winners in the Greater Vancouver Regional.
Districts's Secondary Schools Essay Contest. .

Levings and Rowley, both Grade 12 students at West Vancouver.
Secondary, and Adams, a Grade 8 student at. Hillside Middle
School, received Merit Awards and $150 each for their papers.” .

Levings wrote about the importance of conservation education in
order to protect the Fraser River. Rowley's essay explored methods
being studied to improve and maintain water quality.in the GVRD;
while Adams researched the GVRD‘s water shortage and conserva
tion techniques. .

The essays were chosen from a panel of six judges, incliding”

Access and egress, for example,
is painless. On a warm evening, a
lone fatherly male can pull into
Andreas’ alleyway, march kids up
the restaurant's side entrance and
secure a table on the sundeck,
which is outfitted in long-wearing
and virtually unstainable green in-
door-outdoor carpet.

Although for. kids the universally:
preferred hamburger is not-offered ::
on the Andreas menu, a good (*
variety of finger foods is... :

Our Chicken Wings were served
ona bed of white rice and dispat-
ched promptly. The Chicken Strips
came with french fries and went:

all the traditional sour cream,
chives and real bacon bits fixin’s.

Service was blessedly swift and
spillage at our table was blessedly
minimal. .
