NORTH VANCOUVER Recreation Centre Ballroom
Dance Club will be hosting their second ballroom
dance on Saturday, Nov. 15 from 8 p.m. to midnight.

“Dancers are going to be delighted with the large
space, as it is being held in the Mickey MacDougall
Gyninasium on East 23rd Street,’ said Merilyn Hicks,
programmer for the North Vancouver Recreation
Centre.

The evening promises to be an entertaining one,
says Hicks, ‘Disk jockey, Les Sinnott, will be leading
dancers into waltzes, quick step, rhumba, cha-cha and
alot more.

“And as tradition dictates, there will be mixers,
spot dances, door prizes and, highlighting the evening,
a floor show put on by the 23rd Street Tappers — a
tap dance group from the North Vancouver Recre-

Tickets for the dance are $8 each at the North Van-
couver Recreation Centre and must be pre-purchased.
Tickets are limited so early commitment is recom-
mended.

“For those who don’t know how to ballroom
dance, the recreation centre does offer many oppor-
tunities to learn,’’ added Hicks. ‘There are interna-
tional style classes for beginning and intermediate
dancers and classes for both couples and singles.’
