The foundation is attempting to
raise $40,000 at this year’s event.

Among the North Shore
bachelors up for grabs are Len
Macht, Bruno Kristensen, Paul
Allen, Mike Williams and Paul
Witzel.

In the auction guide book, Len
Macht, a Virgo, is catalogued as
auction item No. f2. In an ac-
companying introduction, Macht
has this to say about his reputa-
tion as a cook: ‘‘In the kitchen, !
am best known for my Chernobyl
chicken."

But the great date with Macht,
dubbed The Victoria Adventure,
does not seek greatness in the
man's cooking.

The $1,025 package includes a
limousine ride to Helijet Airways
for a flight to Victoria and a stay
at the Coast Harbourside. While
in Victoria, Macht and friend will
stop for tea at the Tudor Rose
Tearoom, pep over to Burtchart
Gardens in a limousine, have din-
ner at the Swan's Inn Cafe and
dance the night away in the
Bengal Room at the Empress
Hotel.

Sunday morning it's brunch at
the Empress followed by a car-
riage tour of historic Victorian
homes before returning to Van-
couver in a helicopter.

A date with No. 18, Bruno
Kristensen (Leo), begins with a
flight to Nanaimo. His daring
date will then have a chance to
jump for joy at The Bungy Zone.

After lunch it’s a flight back to
Vancouver for 2 $500 shopping
spree at Leone's. After dinner at
Zefferelli’s the happy couple will
take in Eugene O’Neill’s A Moon

The double date includes a
$2,000 shopping spree for
clothing, the purchase of designer
glasses or sunglasses, a new hair-
do, brunch, dinner and a Gulf
Islands cruise aboard a 52-foot

The auction also offers non-
dating, ‘‘pamper yourself’’

The Children’s Wish Founda-
tion was established in Canada in
1984. The organization has
granted more than 1,500 wishes to
children suffering from life-
threatening diseases.
