environmental group, don’t buy

ticular country quits killing whales,
don’t wear furs, turn vegetarian,
shun cosmetics that invoive animal
torture, recycle, bicycle, put a
brick in your toilet to cut down on

But let’s talk nitty-gritty.

I know from my own experience
that the most frustrating thing
about all of this is to track down
and use environment-friendly pro-
ducts. It is also one of the most
critical things to do, because all the
thetoric and Goody-Two-Shoes
thinking in the world is useless if
you can’t translate it into action.

Time is of the essence. And
while I know what I want, finding
what I’m looking for is time-con-
suming. Often enough, I give up
and use some product I know to be
ecologically bad, simply because
the alternative is too hard to find.

The problem lies in the fact that
many of the great green products
that are available have either just
been invented or are the brain-
children of small outfits lacking
the financial heft to do a proper
marketing job. a

Accordingly, today I’m going to
list a number of new products that
can be bought and that are either
vast improvements over the old-
style stuff or at least reasonable
improvements.

natural cereal grains.

It releases no carbon emissions,
cooks meat in half the usual time,
and leaves no ashes. It’s called

Here’s one I really like. It’s call-
ed Chemfree Insectigone, a 100 per
cent natural bug killer. It’s made
from a protein attractant that lures
the full range of insect pests.

Once they come in contact with
the stuff, they die. The product
works physically, not chemically,
so insects can’t develop an im-
munity to it. It is so safe that it can
be used around children. It has no
effect on wildlife, pets or birds.

One of the more interesting
devices I’ve run across is the =auer
Automatic Lavatory Faucet.

It looks like a regular tap, but it
makes use of infrared technology
to sense the user’s presence so that
the moment your hands pass
beneath the nozzle, it activates
water pre-mixed to the desired
temperature. The moment you
remove your hands to wash your
face or scrub your teeth, it cuts off
the water supply, thereby cutting
back enormously on water

BOSTON—With the oil glut worse than
ever and OPEC singing its hands, the
Federal Courts have awarded a fee of
$22,747 to National Fuelsaver Corporation
of Boston, developers of the Piatinum
- Gasaver,

The Gasaver, which takes only 10
minutes to install, releases microscopic

4 quantities of platinum into the air-fuel
= mixture entering the engine.

Platinum has the unique ability of
making unburnt fuel burn. With platinum
in the flame zone, you increase the
percentage of fuel burning in the engine

from 68% to 90%.
. Normally, that 22% of the fuel would
only burn if it came in contact with the

platinum coated surfaces of a catalytic
converter. Unfortunately, this converter
process takes place outside of the engine,
where the engergy produced is lost.

With the Gasaver dispensing platinum
into the combustion chambers, 22% more
of each gallon burns inside the engine so
that 22% fewer gallons are required to
drive the same distance.

The process works on both leaded and
unleaded gasoline, and meets the emission
standards of ail states.

Gasaver, the Federal Court stated:
“National Fuelsaver Corp. and various
independent parties have used a variety ~

of methodologies to test the value of
Gasaver. These independent parties often
make stronger claims for the Gasaver than §
does its developer, National Fuelsaver
Corp.”

The government had already contirmed
in 1984 that the Gasaver raises the octane
of gasoline, eliminating the need for
premium fuel.

Joel Robinson, the developer, |
commented: “We've already sold over #
100,000 Gasavers. fronicatly, we find more
peopie buy the Gasaver for its third benefit
of cleaning out carbon to extend engine
life than buy it for its fuel savings or octane
