junior bantam Stamps opened
their 1986 season Sept. 21 with a
28-0 win over the Eskimos.

The Stamps’ offence was led by
tailback David Benson who had
two touchdowns.

Offensive end Russell Carriere
added a touchdown pass reception
and two converts.

Quarterback Sandy Turner ran
in the game’s first touchdown.

Converts were scored by Hayes
Becette and Chris Matlock.

A team effort on defense sealed
the shut-out victory for the Stamps
when interception by Darren
Davies picked off an = errant
Eskimo pass.

The Stamps next game is Sept.
28 at Norgate Park at 12:30 p.m.

for the heart

GOLFERS RAISED $12,000 for
heart research, at the Sept. 9 Heart
Fund Golf Tournament at the
University Golf Club.

Frank Rigney, CTV sports
commentator, hosted the awards
banquet and presented the Heart
Tund trophy to Rick Fortune, Rob
Slater, Jim Cross, and Rob Dorey,
whose team held the best aggregate
score.

The longest drive award was
won by Tom Rogers.
