16 - Wednesday, July 31, 1985 - North Shore News Mailbox Post office move deserves more ink Dear Editor: Recently in a conversation with my wife, she mentioned a friend, who on changing her address, was informed by the Post Office that it would cost her nine dollars and fifty cents. I assumed that someone had got some kind of silly story twisted. I therefore went down to the local branch, and was informed that on changing my ad- dress, or moving my abode, in order to receive postal service I would be required to purchase a card, and fill out the details, all of which would indeed cost me $9.50. ' To say that I was in a rage, would be the understatement of the year. Here a so-called Crown Corporation has increased the rates by about one thou- sand per cent, is penalizing us for moving, and is still developing deficit on deficit. But what infuriates me most, is the fact no newspa- per, periodical, or public body has raised any hell about this kind of situation. As for politicians, anyone who expects anything of any politician is a fool. They are all into the trough with all four feet. I have come to the sad conclusion that we are a na- tion of sheep led by a few cunning goats. If this were not so, some politicians and bureaucrats would be runn- ing for their lives.
