LV Zellers wins softball cup

tournament Sunday, “only
they will know how little
they've played” to coin a
phrase.

With over 17 teams from
the Lower Mainland and
Vancouver Island, only a
few players managed to
ascend to the lofty heights of
the finals and cxtra gamé3.

however, who went almost
all the way to the cham-

-pionship before getting

edged out 7-6 in the final by
Surrey.

Helen Robinson pitched
for the local store. George
Horvath helped out with a
homer late in the game,
while Mo Smith put in a
beautiful performance on
first.

pionships were held in a SO
metre pool. The New
Westminster Hyacks placed
second overall after the
Dolphins.

The zone championship
followed the Hawk's North
Vancouver Minor Lacrosse
league championship.

The title now allows the
boys to advance to the
provincial playdowns slated
for Killarney High School
durjng the July 31 weekend.
