A BURNABY firm has developed a carrying device that enables RV
owners to tow an automobile with its drive wheels secured to the carrier.

, Coachcraft Industries Ltd. will display its new Coachcaddy at the 1987
Recreation Vehicles and Outdoors Show, which opens at B.C. Place
Thursday, Feb. 26.

This new car-towing dolly, used mainly to tow small cars behind motor
homes, has three main advantages to its users.

It offers: convenience for the motor home owner, by having a smaller
vehicle to use wherever he travels; fuel saving; and no increase in car
odometer reading, while the car is being towed.

The Coachcaddy is basically a two-wheeled axle, connected to the tow-
ing vehicle by a ball hitch, with tray, security and safety. mechanisms,
brakes, plus options such as a spare wheel or jack to’ facilitate hitch con-
nections for those who lack strength.

John Stewart, president of Coachcraft Industries Ltd., says the dolly
was first developed i in 1981 to ‘improve upon existing car-towing devices
sold in the-U.S.,". and to.‘‘deal with the requirements and codes of fed-
eral and provincial governments. ” F
