25 - Wednesday, March 13, 1985 - North Shore News Cap women win volleyball crown —- CAPILANO ‘COLLEGE women’s volleyball team scored an anti-climactic Straight-set victory over Douglas College Saturday to clinch the provincial cham- pionships and a spot at the national tournament. Cap College downed open. The four teams involved — Cap, Douglas, Cariboo and BCIT — played an opening round robin set that ended with Cariboo, Cap and BCIT all tied for first place and Douglas College bringing up the rear. The technical school team won the first match, Capilano bounced back in the sccond and then BCIT stunned the locals again, giving them a 2-1 edge and forcing the Cap women to win three straight to avoid elimination.
