Capilano College, mean-
while, had its hands full with
its own semi-final match
against BCiT. The technical
school team won the first
match, Capilano bounced
back in the sccond and then
BCIT stunned the locals
again, giving them a 2-1 edge

and forcing the Cap women
to win three straight to avoid
elimination.

They did just that, setting
the stage for the final against
Douglas and the champion-
ship victory.

month for the national
championship, going in as
the cighth ranked team on

the Canadian college scene.
It will be the second ap-
pearance in the finals in
three years for the locals —
who finished seventh in
Toronto in 1982 — with
school officials saying this
year's entry could finish as
high as in the top five.
