Syl Dzus, supervisor of investigations for the CASB, said Friday investigators are still interviewing witnesses and examining the wreckage of the small, fixed-wing air- craft that crashed and burn- ed last Saturday. Dzus said it has not yet been determined whether the crash was due to failure on the pilot's part or whether the accident resulted from improper strength or im- proper construction of the plane. Preliminary examina- tion has indicated structural failure was at least partly to blame for the crash. / “There’s a number of fac- tors to consider,”’ said Dzus. “tt will be a considerable time before anything definitive comes out of the investigation.”’ / ~ Daus said once; the prelim- inary investigation is com- pleted, an. examination will be conducted in the CASB lab.
