McCarthy said _ the in-

received a higher rate than
those without dependents.

McCarthy said that while
it was unfortunate this
proposal was not adopted,
she was encouraged that the
federal government has
invited all provinces to
participate in an on-going
review of the unemployment
insurance program in
preparation for the 1980's.

“Our hope is that the
federal government will also
involve the provinces in new
initiatives in the field of
income assistance in the
coming decade,” she said.
