Sweet Pepa Lowdown was conceived by
Quitarist/vocalist Jeff Shucard as a_ unique
B ensemble of hot syncopated musicians dedicated
to bringing a contemporary vitality to classic vocal
blues and jazz tunes of the 1920's and 30s.
Drawing from such past masters as Jelly Roll
Morton, Blind Blake, and Bessie Smith, Sweet
: fs Papa Lourlown combines the raw intensiy of
~ country blues with the sophisticated horns of New
” Orleans style jazz. Sweet Papa Louxlown have been performing in chibs
«and concert halls in Western Canada and the United States for over 6
years. Their first CD “Lost and Found” (Currently unavailable) was
- enthusiastically acclaimed by the Jazz and Blues community, and their
brand new CD, "Til Times Get Better” continues where the first left off.

performing country music but in 1990 he ventured into

songwriting. His audiences and fans loved his original songs, so
Darrell decided to head to the

auspicious beginning, the Summer Pops Youth Orchestra has
never looked back. Blending beth traditional band and orchestra
instruments, the orchestra has become world-renown for their

‘upbeat pops music. The organization was started by Musical

Director Garth Williams to provide a unique opporiumity for
students aged 12 to 18 who are interested in music. He is now
joined by Co-Conductor Jim Littleford. SPYO is now recognized as
one of the foremost youth music programs in the country.
