| Credit unt WINTER weather is coming to North Shore mountains and it’s timely that North Shore Credit Union branches begin anoth- er in a series of fundraising initiatives. This time, it’s a raffle to raise funds to purchase equipment for the North Shore Rescue Team Society’s command vehicle project. The rescue team works year round, sometimes under horrific conditions on treach- erous mountain terrain at all hours of the day and night. These volunteers save fives. Their canyon and A pertect opportunity to stock’ mountain rescues are Ieg- endary. Their needs are great. The North Shore Credit Union continues to be a strong supporter for the non-profit society that funds the team. This year, the North Shore Rescue Team takes delivery of a new fully- oe BITAI AAS equipped $400,000 rescue vehicle. NSCU provided an initial $30,000 corporste contribu- tion over three years as well as a Jow-interest loan to allow the rescue team to begin the year-long job of assembling the truck while the fundraising continued. Staff members continue Pe; to come up with fundraising activities for the team’s spe- cial needs. For example, staff at the Marine Drive raised enough funds to purchase two gener- ators worth over $1,100. The NSCU Golf Tournament, held in September, brought in a fur- ther $3,300 for the team.
