Milegal drugs seized by all sections of the North Vancouver Police include: Marijuana: 4,309.4 grams and 1,788 plants (One plant yields approximately five ounces of the drug, according to Leroux); & Cocaine: 3,329.8 grams; O Opium: | 042 grams; J Hashish: 110.4 prams; ( Heroin: 42.5 grams; © FDA (chemical substances that fall under the Food and Drug Act, such as mushrooms); 34.7 grams and 12 pills; 2] MDA (chemical substances, such as speed): 7.9 grams and arugs iS rising A Lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD): 1t1 hits. Although the amount of heroine seized is low compared with other numbers on the list, and low com- pared to what Vancouver Police take in, Leroux said, “it is a lot for North Van.” As well, $36,464 in cash proceeds from crime was seized, Money earned from trafficking and property (such as cars, celular phones and pagers) used in trafficking will be confiscated by police at the time of an arrest, Leroux explained. If the person arrested is found innocent, these items are returned, If they are found guilty. the money and property is typicaliy turned over lo the Receiver General.
