Sunday, Oct. 2).

As at resident of Cedardate, 1 too
am a responsible citizen. b pay
taxes, own my home and try to
make West Vancouver a desirable
place to live,

By the opposition of “spot re-
zoning” of single-family residential
neighborhoods, | hope to mititain
the quality of Hife for my faciity and
my neighbors. This was our moti-
vation in choosing this site for our
home.

We made this decision im good
faith, as didi many others, and
expect that the zoning will not be
altered to build a multilevel care
facility,

Dear Editor:

Why is it that we must see the
breasts of young women every
time we read your newspaper?
The Sunshine Girl of the North
Shore News is both unnecessary
and degrading to women. These
pictures are sexist and do
absolutely nothing but objectify
women..

Why. in a time when people
are beginning to respect the rights
of all oppressed people, do you
continue to promote your publica-
tion with the half-naked bodies of
women? Who are you trying to
impress? ;

Why don’t you publish the pic-
ture and story of women from our
‘community who have become
successful? Would this be too
much of a biow to your pathetic
patriarchal egos?

You should be more responsi-
ble and consider the message that
you are sending to the children in
our community. You promote the
use of the body as a tool for suc-
cess rather than the use of the
mind.

We feel that this is irresponsi-
ble journalism and we would like
you to refrain from delivering this
publication to our home as long as
the Sunshine Girl section contin-
ues to exist.
