CAPILANO COLLEGE English
instructor Graham Forst has been
awarded the Morris Saltzman
Multiculture Award from the Ca-
nadian Jewish Congress Pacific
Region.

CAPILANO COLLEGE instruc-
tor Graham Forst wins
multiculture award.

Forst was honored at the Uni-
versity of B.C.'s symposia on the
Holocaust. He is currently co-
chairman of the standing commit-
tee on the Holocaust and has
devoted his energies to this educa-
tional effort for 15 years.

Forst is the second person to
receive the award. The first went
to Aziz Khakei, chairman of the
Committee for Racial Justice.

The paintings, all selected by
experienced jurors, cost an
average of $4 each per month.

The business and corporate sec-
tor in particular are invited to
select paintings for their offices
and may keep them for three
months.

North Vancouver Community

Cancer Society
seeks volunteers

VOLUNTEERS ARE needed for
the return of the Canadian Cancer
Society’s Jail-N-Bail fundraising
event Oct. 2 to 4,

Volunteers will be *tarrested"*
by actual members of the West
Vancouver Police force or the
North Vancouver RCMP detach-
ment. They will then be brought
to Park Royal South where they
will be tried, sentenced and
thrown in the slammer for one
hour during which they must raise
enough pledges to meet their bail.
Once freed, they are delivered
home in a limousine ‘‘paddy-
wagon’’.
