Dear Editor:

_ | spend considerable time walk-
ing on the North Shore and feel we
are all very lucky to live in such a
fine place.

However, it bothers nie to no
end when home owners feel that
they are free 10 dump their garden
refuse down a ravine or at the end
of a cul-de-sac.

Not only is it unsightly but it
often contains plastic bags, plastic
buckets, old lumber, the list goes
on and on.

Is it so difficult to dispose of
this refuse properly or better yet
compost the materia] that can be
_composted?

Most of you wouldn’t think
twice about driving across town
for dinner, but find it difficult to
take half an hour to go to the
transfer station in order to keep
my, your, and everyone’s backyard
clean and tidy. Besides, it’s against
the law to litter.

have provided the Ride of Your
Life Service to our high school
graduates this year deserve the
thanks of all parents on the North
Shore.

Providing transportation for the
young people during graduation
from hours 11:30 p.m.- 7:00 a.m.
ensured that these graduates arriv-
ed home safely.

Their time and service was great- -

The North Shore News fulfills several important functions in the com-
munity of North and West Vancouver.

Many talented, hardworking people are careful to make the newspaper
informative, interesting and timely.

The entire system of news gathering, ad writing, composing, printing,
assembly and advertising sales goes for nothing if the papers and the .
flyers within are not delivered with thought, care, and on time.

We have more than 900 carriers and we wish all of them to have
the qualities and abilities that enable them to work within our system
to deliver the papers properly — in their entirety.

All carriers earn the same basic fair wage and a few carriers eam some
extra money if their route is particularly difficult. Carriers are also paid
for each and every flyer they deliver within the newspaper.
