aa FAMILY SHOPPING FOR FASHION shopping this Christmas season, Capilano Mall in North Vancouver is the place to look for the latest styles and colors for the whole family. Offering over 100 shops, the North Vancouver mall has fashion and clothing stores to fit every budget and taste — with shops like Cotton Ginny, Mariposa, Lady Foot Locker, Big Steel and Tip Top, the mall is truly a fashion centre. “T think we have an excellent mix of fashion in our centre,”’ says manager Dan Torok, who points out the mall offers stores for casu- al and dressy wear. With a number of both national- ly and regionally based clothing stores in the mall, shoppers can find all their favorite shops — and some new ones, too. Clothes for the tiny tot or grow- ing tyke on the Christmas list are not left out at Capilano Mall — shoppers can also find the latest juniors’ fashions. COMPLEMENT CLOTHES And what are new clothes without accessories to complement them? Capilano Mall has shops to fill everybody's accessory needs from jewelry to belts and ties. Gem Jewellers and Lugaro Jewellers make their home in the mall, and provide a range of gift ideas for that special woman or man on the Christmas list. The Tie Rack carries a complete selection of ties in most styles and fabrics. When shoppers get weary from browsing through the mall’s more than 100 stores, The Picnic Garden food fair area offers lots of variety to satisfy their hunger. Recently opened in the mall is a new Japanese restaurant, Edo of Japan, for those craving exotic mealtime fare. For those preferring more standard cuisine, there are fast food restaurants with the burger and french fries favorites. Those who enjoy a sit-down meal will appreciate The Sirloiner restaurant, ‘ MALL RENOVATED The mall, renovated just a few years ago, is supplied with plenty of benches for those tired shop- pers who have been on their feet for the entire day. “When you have basic fashion with accessories you can just about find anything (at Capilano Mall),"’ explains Torok. ‘‘It's the total package.”” Starting this weekend is the mall’s new elf program, where during peak hours helpful elves assist shoppers with carrying parcels, holding doors and so on. On Dec. 13, the mall hosts breakfast with Santa, and features a teddy bear contest with prizes for the cutest, oldest and most unusual teddy bear. ‘ The Santa Anonymous program ~~ where shoppers buy gifts for underprivileged children — will be held at the North Vancouver mail for one day on Dec. 18. Capilano Mal is open to 9 p.m. weekdays, to 5:30 p.m. Saturdays and to 5 p.m. Sundays.
