Young drivers show off

YOUNG LOWER Mainland
drivers: will show off their good
driving skills at the regional trials
for the 1986 Texaco Presents the
‘Young Driver’ Championships.

The event will be held May 25,
adjacent to B.C.LT, in Burnaby.

Local teams must use their own

vehicles to complete the two parts
~ of the rally - an on-road test and a
skills test. Both tests challenge
defensive driving skills, car han-
dling techniques, and the ability to
anticipate accident-producing situ-
ations.
- The winning team will receive a
free trip to Montreal for the two-
day National Championships,
where they | will compete. with
twenty-six other teams in identical
1986 Daytona Turbos for a chance
to win the grand prize,

The prize is the Texaco Trophy
honoring the Best Young Driver in
Canada,
Turbo equipped with Goodyear
Eagle GT radial tires and $1,000
worth’ of free gasoline from: Tex-
