Shore youths in Nutcracker The North Shore is playing a big part in this year’s production of the ever popular “Nutcracker” ballet by the Pacific Northwest Ballet — a David Y. H. Lui production running December 29-31 and January 2-4 at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre. No less than 16 of the 130 Lower Mainland children with dancing roles come from North and West Vancouver. Since its premiere in 1892 “Nutcracker”, with its music by Tchaikovsky, has con- tinued to delight audicnces around the world. It has become as much of a holiday tradition as Christmas carols and candy canes. This year's production, choreographed by Lew Christensen, brings to life a world where toy soldiers battle giant mice and a Candy Kingdom filled with fantasy characters transports the audience to a magical sugarplum land. The young North Shore performers include Alexandra Dickson, Barbara Champion, Sarah Hen- derson, Jennifer Anderson, Jessica Wilson, Kerry Irish, Erica Gunn, Sharon Quaife, Jill Trory, Carolyn Bergstrand, Adria Slade, Jennifer Kellough, Clair Nothard, Julie-Claire Hamiltion, Helen Nothard and Andrea Ting. December 30-31 and January 2-3 performances are matinees at 2 p.m. Tickets at Vancouver Ticket Centre outlets and Eaton's stores. ‘Warsaw Re STHURANT *Live Music* DINE L DANCE & enjov the piano stylings of TYRONE MORINE every Wed...
