B4- Sunday News, August 30, 1981 EN sport AT PROVINCIAL FINALS The North Shore Winter Club Marlins swim team placed second in_ the province last weekend at the provincial swim meet held at Canada Games Pool in New Westminster. Competing clubs, the Marlins won the junior boys team trophy and were runners-up for the junior girls, senior girls and senior boys trophies. Elaine Prescott and Doug MacDonald captured _in- dividual aggregate trophies for the team. In the girls 15 and 16 division, Prescott set a new record in the individual medley, and was also first in backstroke, as well as finishing second in_ the freestyle and butterfly. In the boys 11 and 12 division, MacDonald won Cruiser takes medals Janet Oakes captured two silver medals last weekend for the North Vancouver Cruisers summer swim club at the provincial cham- pionships held last weekend at the Canada Games Pool in New Westminster. Oakes won the medals i in the girls 13 and 14 division of the 100m backstroke and 100m freestyle events. This year is the 10th anniversary for the club and charter member Kevin Colbow was still around to place in four events in the boys 15 and 16 division.
