2-0 shutout for visitors

When Peter Scott's
North Shore Pegasus
went on the field
Sunday afternoon to
face the Vancouver
Whitecap Reserves,
they were missing a
number of regular faces
in the lineup: The
injured players were
sorely missed by the
end of the afternoon as
the Junior Whitecaps

came away with an easy
2-0 win.

A number of players from
the second division team
were inserted into the lineup
to make up for the injuries,
but their inexperience of
working with the regular
team showed as the Pegasus
attack was totally without fire
or imagination.

The Reserves were an
obviously well conditioned
team packed with players
who are hoping to make their
mark shortly with the parent
club.

Bruce Grobbelar, — the
South African keeper signed
to back up ‘Lofty’ Parkes had

little to do inthe afternoon
while Bill Grant at the
opposite end was kept busy
handling a number of
Whitecap shots.

Drew Ferguson, a 21 year
old Canadian who played the
off season with Southport in
Engkand, put the Caps into
1-0 lead, midway through
the first half with a booming
shot from about 20 yards out.
