Discussions continue on
CXY Rezoning/Dollarton Realignment

ouncil is considering a rezoning application by CXY Chemicals Ltd. (Canadian

Occidental Petroleum Ltd.) for property shown on the map below. The Public

Hearing on March 31 and April 1 was adjourned to provide an opportunity for
further public discussion of some aspects of the proposal.

Two meetings are being scheduled: one to focus on land
use and design on the CXY site and another to focus on
the proposed Dollarton Realignment and Seymour River
bridge (including funding options).

The discussion is taking place in light of the

~ municipality's desire to realign the Doilarton Highway ©
and, at the same time, consider zoning changes for
CanOxy property to accommodate light industrial and
limited commercial uses on a portion of their site. ,

At present, CanOxy lands are zoned for general
manufacturing and industrial uses. The existing

chemical facility will continue to Operate under any of
the proposed zoning changes.

The meetings will include information displays and an:
opportunity to discuss the proposals with District and
Can Oxy representatives, and other residents of the
