Well- loved WV woman passes WEST VANCOUVER lost a well loved woman Sunday with the death of Margaret Aimeda Wallace after a seven-year battle with cancer. She would have been $5 today. The wife of Rev. Ed Wallace, Rector of St. Stephen’s Anglican Church, she was deeply involved in her husband's work throughout their 15 years in West Van. especially with women’s groups. She con- tinued her public activities until as recently as last Christmas when, despite her greatly weakened condition, she still insisted on greeting the midnight service con- gregation at her husband's side. Among her other gifts Mrs. Wallace had a rare tal- ent for entertaining and catering, whether for a gtoup of two or two hun- dred, and many West Van friends will remember her in particular for the traditional open house they enjoyed each year. at the rectory. Outside the church her main interest was in the work of the Lions Gate Hospital Auxiliary, on which she served as treasurer of the Dogwood Shop. Her contributions to the West Van community repeated the pattern she established im her husband’s earlier ministries prior to St. Stephen’s. In Fergus, Ont., Williams Lake, B.C. and Calgary she is also remembered by the many people whose lives she touched. A native of Winnipeg, she married her fellow Win- nipeger there in 1955, shortly after his graduation as a theological student.
