INCREASED bus fares will take effect on the
North Shore June 1, Commuters will now pay
$1 (from 85 cents) to travel in one zone, $1.35
(from $1) to travel in two zones and $1.75

from $1.25) to travei in three. Government j

transit subsidies dropped five per cent and a
retroactive wage settlement with bus workers
has depleted any surplus.

Don Who?
That's what they'll be saying when I get off
the plane in the sunny land of palms and
bikinis. Some colleagues and | plan on
generating lots of excitement in the world of
body shops. I'm going to Honolulu to take
part in an intensive course in body shop
management. No, I won't be learning how
to judge bikinis or taris. We're talking cars
here. Dorothy, Crash Pad's mainstay for
sanity is also coming. But don’t worry, Ed
and company will be holding down the fort,
our bastion of fine auto body repairs.

My mother is coming along to Hawaii with
me, not as a chaperone, but for a little holi-
day, and hey, I'm a nice guy. As a matter
of fact, she has just returned:from my
Grandmother's 108th birthday! And you
think you're old. Just think if longevity runs
