TAKING ON AN inter-provincial flavor, the second annual quarter marathon sponsored by North Shore News and
the North Shore Secondary Schools Athletic Association, was won by Freeman Churchill of Halifax, Nova Scotia on
Sunday morning. More than 500 runners took to the starting line behind Park Royal South, on the cloudy day. Churchill's
time was f) seconds slower than the inaugural run last year. The winner is seen crossing the finish line on the left while
the start is at the top. Al runners spent considerable time warming up before the nine a.m. start. See story and more
