FATS WALLER, Louis
Armstrong, and Duke
Ellington may be just
immortal memories of
great jazz to most, but
to Lloyd Arntzen they
are old friends.

Accomplished
clarinettists,

singer,
and sax-

ophonist, Arntzen has always
loved jazz and fronted jazz
bands. He'll be putting his
experience and interest
together to present Masters
of Jazz at City Stage
November 6 through April of
next year.

Four shows will be
mounted for each artist in the
series.

December 4 and 11, Billie
Holiday January 22 and 29,
Jelly Roll Morton, February
19, and 26 and finally Duke
Ellington March 25 and April
1.

The shows will play at 2:00
p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Sundays.

Arntzen will be joined by a
group called the Broadway

Swells made up of Doug
Parker, ptano, Chris Nelson,
bass, Micky Earnshaw,
drums, and Leif Arntzen on
trumpet.

Holly Arntzen will take
centre stage for the Billie
Holiday performances.
