EVERY year there are
people in B.C. who are
seriously injured by fire-
works,

The West Vancenver Fire
department encourages people
to enjoy public fireworks dis-
plays put on by trained person-
nel, rather than use recreation:
al fireworks.

‘The public should be aware
of Fireworks — Regulations
Rylaw No, 3103, 1983, thar
exist within our community.

The sale and use of fire-
works are only permitted
between Oct. 24 and Nov. i.

Federal regulations prohibit
the use of firecrackers and bot-
de rockets in Canada.

Only low-hazard recreation
fireworks may be used by the
general public in’ West Van.
Modification of fow hazard
fireworks is alse: prohibited.

The following precautions
should be taken:

& Only adults should discharge
fireworks. (Note: it is illegal tor
anyone under the age of 18

years to be in the possession of

fireworks).

B No fireworks shall be fired or
set off on public property, for
example parks and ficlds except
with written permission of the

fire chict.

@ No fireworks shall be set off

on private property without
