Dukes’ coach Jay Prepchuk was hired as the Thunderbirds’ new head coach April 23, replacing Dave Johnson. “We're confident Jay is going to do a great job for us,” UBC athletic director Bob Philip said in a news release. “He’s been effective at the high school level and is ready to make the move to universi- ty football.” Prepchuk coached 11] years at Windsor, guiding the team to three provincial AA cham- pionships in the last four sea- sons. “Pm pretty excited,” Prepchuk said. “It’s one of the best football programs ir north shore news jindsor coach gets thal all of Canada.
