THE following is a selec-
tion of volunteer opportuni-
ties available through North
Shore Community Services
(NSCS).

Drivers are needed to assist
patients who have no other
means of transportation by dri-
ving them to and from treai-
ment centres. There is a des-
perate need for more volunteer
drivers. Times are arranged
based on driver availability.

An office assistant is need-

ed by a North Shore organiza-
tion concerned with preserv-
ing and enhancing bird habi-
tats. Duties include answering
the telephone, helping with
the newsletter and scheduling
of volunteers.

Carpenters, laborers and
painters are necded by a
North Shore organization that
helps low income people help
themselves. They will be doing
major renovations te their
premises.

Childcare assistants are
required to be involved in chil-
dren’s daily activities, such as
indoor and outdoor play as
well as the custodial care
involved when working with
the children.

A Class 4 driver is needed
to drive a van for a small group
of seniors for short outings.
The volunteer will be on an
on-call basis. Social cutings are
once a month.
