N. Shore municipalities restrict fireworks use NORTH SHORE fire depariments are reminding local res- iderits to have a safe Halloween this year by using caution when setting off fireworks. No one is allowed to sell or set off firecrackers in any of the three North Shore muncipalities, but the rules ‘for the use of fireworks differ in each communi- ty. @ In North Vancouver District, no one is allowed to sell, give or set off fireworks except between Cct. 24and Nov. 1. In addition, no one is allowed to sell fireworks to anyone under 19 years of age. The fireworks permitted and solid at local North Vancouver District retailers are those classified as low-hazard fireworks. The main risk with this class of fireworks is from fires starting elsewhere. They are unlikely to explode vi- oiently, but they function individ- ually and may spread the fire. In the. district, low-hazard fireworks may be sold to an adult 19 years of age and over for his own use on his own property. That person bears the responsi- bility for safe use by himself or others. There will be three fireworks displays in North Vancouver District on Oct. 31 at § p.m. at Norgate Park, Lynn Valley Park and Myrtle Park. ‘. The displays are sponsered jointly by the district and the District of North Vancouver Firefighters Local 1183. @ North Vancouver City Fire - Department Insp.
