BOSUNTSS BRIEFS TWO WEST Vancouver com- panies have been aided by the B.C. Trade Development Corporation in developing export sales for their products. West Vancouver-Howe Sound MLA John Reynolds said the Crown corporation helped the two companies, AMS Manufacturing Ltd.and Myroka Sales Corp., par- ticipate in national and interna- tional trade shows. Reynolds said the companies normaliy would not have been able to pursue these opportunities without assistance. AMS Manufacturing marketed its ergonomically designed aerobic hand weights at the Canadian Sporting Goods Association trade show in Montreal. Myroka Sales Corp. exhibited its accessory products for mobile telephone installations at the Telecator Exposition in Washington, D.C. International Business Minister Elwood Veitch, chairman of B.C. Trade, said the two companies were allotted up to $2,000 cach under B.C. Trade’s New Market Development program to help with expenses. Forest Service will invest $5 million from its 1990-91 budget in the one-year-old community forestry program. “This brings the provincial gov- ernment’s total commitment to community-based forestry projects to $9 million, after including the $4 million allocated by the social services and housing ministry towards the province's forestry enhancement program,’ Rich- mond said. He added the program could create 750 short-term jobs by allowing municipalities and regional districts to further im- prove forests in their area.
