Pumpkin contest held

GARDENERS, TOO, can compete
at the world Olympics — for
heavyweight pumpkins that is!

The Great Pumpkin Contest will
be held on Thanksgiving morning,
Monday, October 10 at VanDusen
Gardens, an official weigh-off sta-
tion for the World Pumpkin Con-
federation.

Rules and entry forms are
available at VanDusen Gardens or
enter your prize winning pumpkin
on the day of judging. Entries for

the heavy categories (pumpkin and
squash) must be received between 8
a.m. and 9 a.m.

Entries for the six surprise and
three children’s categories must be
received by 11:30 a.m. All ages will
enjoy the fun as competitors or
spectators.

There is no contest entry fee.

There will be free admission to

10 a.m.
