equate roof ventilation. In some cases this will show
up after you have added to your existing roof insulation.
Venting up through the soffits into the roof cavity can be
blocked when insulation is blown in, if insulation stops are
not installed where the ceiling meets the outside wall. The
insulation Stops allow air to vent up around the insulation
and roof sheathing. If the vents are blocked warm moist air
will escape out around your roof sheathing boards and
freeze, forming ice under the shingle flaps causing them to
curl, When the ice melts your shingles remain curled caus-
ing deterioration. So make sure your vents are free of any
