World Vision project fights hunger | Next YOUNG PEOPLE in the North Vancouver area will go hungry to fight hunger during World Vision Canada’s 30-Hour Famine on Feb. 1. Nearly 25,000 Canadians, many in groups at schools, churches and community organizations, will work together to raise awareness about global poverty. Meanwhile, they will learn about the issues behind poverty and will raise money to fight hunger. In 1991, 87,000 people fasted and raised $1.8 million. This year they will aim for $2.4 million.
