NV beauty wins contest NORTH VANCOUVSER'’S Sharen McRae Pidgeon has been chosen as the Western region winner of the Dove Search for Canada’s Classic Beauty. A financial analysist by pro- fession, Pidgeon entered the con- test at the urging of a client. *{ didn’t think I would win, but I thought it might be fun to ry,”’ she said. More than 300 women across Canada entered the Dove Search, a contest for women over 30 years old. Forty-two-year-old Pidgeon won the highest marks of all the entrants from her region, which encompasses B.C. and the Territories. Pidgeon’s beauty regimen in- cludes exercise in the form of walking and weights, a healthy diet favoring herbal teas sans caffeine, and — needless to say — cleansing with the Dove Beau- ty Bar. Juggling family and communi- ty activities leaves Pidgeon little time for herself, but her philoso- phy of an “all-round perspective as opposed to single-mindedness in one area’? enables her to balance her interests in salmon fishing, wain-making, cooking, entertaining and skiing, with other demands in her life. As regional winner, Pidgeon receives a full makeover at Van- couver Glemby International Salon, a complete outfit from Sears, dinner for two, jewelry, a one-year subscription to Chatelaine and a one-year supply of Dove soap.
