unveiled Winning sculptures THE WINNERS of the Lonsdale Quay Waterfront Park Sculpture Competition have now been chosen and models of all six semi- finalists will be on display for public viewing at the B.C. Raii Building, 221 Wert Esplanade, Friday, April 2¢ 10 to 4:30 p.m. and Satur day April 27, 10:30 to 4 p.m. The first prize winner in the Sculpture Competition sponsored by the North Vancouver Community Arts Council, is Douglas Senft of Cumberland, B.C. for his Vision of North Vancouver entitled Cathedral. ii is an organic sculpture involving earth forms and steel frames and provides a walking experience through linear frames shaped to sim- ulate the North Shere moun- tains. It also provides views both of the City of Van- coouver and the mountains. be combined for two equal prizes of $2,000.00 each. The two winners are Kwong Y. Lau of North Vancouver for his concept entitled Beyond ihe North and Stan Brain of Surge Narrows for his concept entitled Vista sfomeints. The selections were made by a jury consisting of Bill Reid, renowned artist, Fred Thornton Hollingsworth, architect Marguerite Pinney, art critic and federal gov- ernment co-ordinator for Arts Acquisition, Richard Pavelek, president, B.C. Landscape Architects Socie- tv and Margaret Jessup, North Vancouver school trustee.
