A Richmond product, Bernie Glier comes to the Lions as a defensive back from the University of B.C. after a high school career in Richmond. Glier was a first draft choice from the Canadian College Draft. Converted from a slotback to a defensive back in College, Glier was a western all-star last season at UBC. A geography major at Simon Fraser University, Dennis Guevin of Kamioops is a 270 pound Tackle who was named to the Honor roll in Grade 11 at Norkan Secondary and won _ the Kamloops & District Teachers Association bursary in grade 12. A fourth round draft choice Dave Singh from New Westminster is a defensive back who majored in Education at UBC. Singh picked off four interceptions last season and was named to the WIFL all star teams both in 1980 and 1981. In addition to the local boys, Lions drafted seven other Canadians’ from Canadian Universities in- cluding Defensive back Don Moen from UBC and Matt Kavanaugh, a centre from Simon Fraser.
