Sunday Feature Home Situated at the very top of the British Properties, the home of Richard and Alisa Hughes has a number of interesting features. It was previously owned by rock star Fred Turner of Bach- man Turner Overdrive and he added some ideas of his own such as enough garage space to hold six cars. Fred was a classic car buff and needed a proper place to keep his collection. Being a recording artist, Fred also added a music studio at the westerly end of the house. When the Hughes bought the home about a year ago, they painted the entire house, added ceramic tiles, new carpets and other in- terior work. The house has a giant patio above the multi-car garage. In fact, with the size of the patio and house, at least 100 guests could be accommodated. And, of course, most rooms offer an unsurpassed view of everything from Mt. Baker to the Gulf Islands Although great for on- tertaining. it ts also a practical family home as well, with four bedrooms, five bathrooms, a game room, 8 huge jacuzzi, and a sauna bath Due to careful planning. the cxtonsive landscaping and rock work has resulted in a very low mainicnance lot which backs onto the natural forest of Hollyburn Mountain One nice hide touch ts a unique “pass through fireplace in the family room This enables you to bring the firclogs from the garage directly into the family room C9 - Sunday, May 23, 1982 - North Shore News FROM TOP to bottom, the Hughes home on tts well-manicured lot.
