THEY SAID 2 Canadian round-the-world flight wouldn’t
‘get off the ground. But it did, even with oniy 80 passengers
“in a Beeing 757 configured for 200, and now, with the

flight just back three days ago, the man behind the venture,

39,000 feet and told the passen-

in Hawaii.

The rest of the itinerary, cover-
ing 35 days, was Fiji, Sydney,
Alice Springs, Bali, Hong Kong,
Bengkok, Kathmandu, Delhi,
Agra, Mombasa, Cairo, Mar-
rakech, London, and Bermuda.

Along the way passengers would

The atmosphere in the cabin
was remarkably like a cruise ship,
where everyone is there to have a
gocd time.

So there we were, all in the
same boat, so to speak, and Capt.
Thompson had barely got off the
air when Donald Scheidt, a 78-
year-old farmer from Luseland,
Saskatchewan, is going around the
aircraft handing everyone ball-
point pens engraved with his name
and address.

There are 17 single women and
seven single men on board. Even
without the pens, Donald would
not be lonely.

Next on his feet is tour director
Carl Naumoff, who introduces his
two assistants. He says they will
print a program every evening
listing the following day’s activi-
ties.

Most. passengers have signed up
in advance for excursions but
there are other options available at
each destination,
