NORTH AND West Vancouver
students were among the approx-
imately 595 students honored at
the University of Victoria 20th an-
nual awards recognition ceremony
held recently in the University
Centre Auditorium.

West Vancouver's Joselyn Byrne
received a $325 Wootton scholar-
ship in law. Andrew Vesely, also
of West Vancouver, picked up the
Daisie Thirlwall scholarship in vio-
lin worth $550.

North Vancouver's Louise
Woznow received a T.S. McPher-
son schclarship worth $2,500
Susan Beach, of North Vancouver,
received a $550 Lily Harris Memo-
rial bursary. Janice Bell, of Noth
Vancouver, received a $500 Jack
Barraclough bursary. Katherine
Stilwell, of North Vancouver,
received the $1,500 William and
Catherine Keene memorial schol-
arship.

Nearly $738,000 in scholarships,
fellowships and other awards was
shared among the students
honored at the ceremony.
