Orr's function, the News
has learned. is to investigate
dentists’ conduct in B.C.
When asked about the case
he replied: “I have heard
that a suit is to be filed.
Apparently a writ has been -
tssued...but I haven't seen. .
it."°

Orr said he has investiga-
ted the circumstances with
both doctors and has spoken
to the complainant's lawyer.
“This has led me to believe
that no unprofessional or
unethical conduct is in-
volved.

“*My job is to look into
allegation of anything unpro-
fessional or unethical. If the
wrong tooth was pulled, and
the dentists did not tell the
patient of the alleged mis-
take. and make every effort
to remedy the damage. the
dentists would then be faced
with possible charges of
unprofessional or uncthical
conduct,”’ Orr explained

The dentists would not
discuss the circumstances of
the incident, however. sour-
ces said that when = the
doctors became aware that th
wrong tooth was allegedly
pulled. they re-implanted it,
hoping 1 would catch ““My
understanding ts that at has

“There is no reason for me
to believe that the dentists
